Energy Efficiency

By providing a centralised multi-service offering, we can deliver complex energy efficiency schemes often comprising multiple measures as a holistic offering. With a senior management team with over 40 years experience in the energy efficiency, retrofit and property refurbishment industries, Zero Carbon Group is focused upon maintaining its already established reputation for delivering projects safely, on time, to budget and to the highest level of client satisfaction.

Services will take an ‘insulation- first’ approach including External Wall Insulation and, where appropriate, Internal Wall Insulation, Loft Insulation and other insulation systems. Additional measures will also include the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV panels and EV chargers.

Our well-established key relationships with industry-leading manufacturers will ensure on time delivery and quality standards are achieved on all projects.

This will be further supported by our teams of highly trained and qualified installers who are selected not just on their technical skills and knowledge, but also their fit with our culture of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and minimising disruption for residents and occupants of the properties being improved.

At Zero Carbon Group, our mission is clear : to lead the charge towards a carbon-free future. Committed to sustainability and innovation, we strive to revolutionise with energy efficient solutions. Together, we can pave the way towards a greener, brighter tomorrow for generations to come.

We protect our environment.
We look after those around us.
We work together.
We constantly improve.

New properties have much better energy efficiency than older ones. The majority of the existing housing stock is more than 60 years old, and around one in five properties are more than 100 years old.

Building new, more efficient homes will increase the average efficiency of the whole housing stock. However, relying on new homes to ‘drag up’ the average would mean slow progress and leave any households living in much less efficient homes which are more expensive to heat. This is why most of the focus on energy efficiency improvements is on ‘retrofitting’ measures to existing older properties.

The ‘energy crisis’ from 2022 has highlighted the important role of energy efficiency in helping to reduce fuel poverty and the associated problems of households struggling to keep their homes warm and pay their energy bills.

26m Homes

26 million homes require decarbonisation upgrades between now and 2050. That equates to 900,000 homes per year, or 2466 homes per day, or 102 homes per hour, or 1.7 homes per minute, every minute for the next 30 years.

62% < EPC C

8 million homes in England (58%) and 460,000 in Wales (62%) have been rated below band C. The majority of existing housing stock is more than 60 years old and around 1 in 5 properties are more than 100 years old.

£12.6b Funding

The Government has has committed £6.6billion to improve energy efficiency to date, with a further £6billion commitment to follow in the period 2025-2028.
